Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 62 (VR-62), nicknamed the Nomads, is one of five U.S. Navy Reserve squadrons operating the Lockheed C-130T Hercules medium-lift cargo aircraft. Based at NAS Jacksonville, FL, the squadron is manned by a combination of traditional part-time drilling Selected Reservists (SELRES) and a full-time active duty Navy Reserve cadre. Fleet Logistics Support Squadron SIX FOUR (VR-64) was established on 1 November 1970 as VP-64, a Reserve Patrol Squadron at Naval Air Station Willow Grove, PA.Ê Originally flying the SP-2H Neptune, the Condors transitioned to the P-3 Orion in 1973. VP-64Õs maritime patrol mission included Anti-submarine warfare (ASW), surface surveillance and counter narcotics capabilities that enabled the Condors to provide global patrol support.
