This is the 'historical' patch created for VT-6. They were established in May 1960 and currently fly the T-34C Mentor trainer. They provide intermediate training for pilots in fixed-wing aircraft that are designated to become rotary wing pilots. They are based at NAS Whiting Field, FL.
