This is the PAST EMINENT COMMANDER Jewel worn by those who have served in that role for their Commandery.

ORDER OF THE RED CROSS:
This order consists of two sections: (1) Zerubbabel’s (the candidate) admission to the Jewish Council at Jerusalem, in which he is granted permission and authority to travel to Babylon to obtain leave from King Darius to stop the enemies of the Jews from hindering their progress in building the Temple, as well as to recover the Holy Vessels of the Temple which were taken as booty to Babyloktrcn by King Nebuchadnezzar when he destroyed the First Temple. Zerubbabel is also given a sword to defend himself; a sash to remind him of his cause; and a password to get him by Jewish sentinels on his journey. Unfortunately, he is captured and made prisoner upon reaching the domains of King Darius. (2) At the court of Darius, Zerubbabel renews his earlier friendship with the King, and is granted a position in the royal household. He then participates in a friendly contest with other nobles regarding the question: ”Which is greater? The strength of wine? The power of the King? Or the influence of woman?” Zerubbabel chooses the latter, and adds an additional element: The force of truth. After rendering his rhetorical declamation on women and concluding in favor of truth above all, Zerubbabel is declared the winner of the contest and is granted his desires by the King. To perpetuate the event, Darius creates a new Order, the Order of The Red Cross, and after an obligation, makes Zerubbabel its first member. Next, Zerubbabel receives the signs, grips, and words, as well as a historical lecture. The body is called a Council. The cornerstone of this Order is the all-important attribute of truth, and the importance of keeping one’s word. It foreshadows the words of Jesus: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

ORDER OF MALTA:
The historic “Knights of the Order of St John of Jerusalem” (Knights Hospitaller) were founded in Jerusalem during the first Crusade, about the year 1099, by the association of many pious Knights with the Brothers of St John’s Hospital, which had been founded earlier that same century, for the relief of pilgrims travelling to worship at the Holy Sepulchre. In Masonic terms, the Malta Degree is conferred on Candidates who have already been Installed as Knights Templar. Whilst the regalia and ceremony are very different from that of Knights Templar Freemasonry it is not a separate sovereign body, rather a progressive Degree within the Order of the Knights Templar; hence the full name of the Great Priory being “The Great Priory of The United Religious, Military and Masonic Orders of The Temple and of St John of Jerusalem, Palestine, Rhodes and Malta of England and Wales and its Provinces Overseas”. The ceremony is based on the movement of the Knights Hospitaller from their inception in Jerusalem, to their settling on the Island of Malta in 1522 (having travelled via Palestine and Rhodes), where they would remain in control for some 270 years. The Masonic ceremony of Installation of a Knight of Malta is a very colourful one which includes moments of drama and historic background. The Rank structure within the Degree is similar to that of the Knights Templar with a few slight differences. The Officers titles are very different and unique to the Degree”.

CHAIN HOLDER:
This is the GEORGIA Templar Belt "Chain Holder" with (small) 4mm holes to keep the 3 strands of Barrel Chains connected together when not attached to the Templar Sword. It has the "gold" finish and (very small) areas to engrave names/dates. Even if the clasps do not fit, can be "drilled out" or used as a challenge coin!!

CHALLENGE COIN:
This is the GEORGIA Templar *CHALLENGE COIN* (with the LOOPS OUT) with (small) 4mm holes that can be used to "Challenge" another when having libations. It has the "gold" finish and (very small) areas to engrave names/dates. The "loops" are not large enough to use as a "Chain Holder" unless you drill them out. Even if the clasps do not fit, can be used as a challenge coin!!
