They also gave up their Intruders based out of NAS Whidbey Island in the early '90s and transitioned to the F/A-18C Hornet flying out of NAS Lemoore, CA. This is their version of one of their tailfins for VFA-115 'Eagles' that has the "Eagle" shown on it.

VFA-115 traces their lineage back to October of 1942 when Carrier Air Group Eleven (CVG-11) formed. The original VT-11 logo was created by Walt Disney Studios.....cool! (Karean Supplier) This is the '75th Anniversary' patch created by the VFA-115 'Eagles" for their time in the Western Pacific Theater (WESTPAC). Strike Fighter Squadron 115 (VFA-115) is known as the "Eagles", callsign "Talon", a USN F/A-18E Super Hornet Strike/Fighter squadron stationed at MCAS Iwakuni. Their tail code is 'NF' and were established as Torpedo Squadron VT-11 on 10 October 1942, redesignated VA-12A on 15 November 1946, VA-115 on 15 July 1948, then finally VFA-115 which is their current assignment. This patch says "BEST ATTACK IN WESTPAC" (their motto) and "VA/VFA-115 ARABS/EAGLES" (top), '75 YEARS' (gold thread - middle), and "STILL IN WESTPAC 1942 - 2017" (bottom). Only received a few of these from a small Korean embroidery shop while a friend was on a visit there earlier this month. This patch does not have velcro attached!"

In 2000, CVW-14 aboard the USS Lincoln (CVN-72) completed their Western Pacific cruise where they were involved in operations in the Persian Gulf (Operation Southern Watch), and Indian & Pacific Oceans. This is the cruise patch made by VFA-115, a West Coast Hornet squadron. I was able to purchase all the "backstock" directly from the squadron years ago, so I marked these down for you to use as "traders".....
