(From the Squadron Mess): This is one of the 2011-2012 OEF/OND 'JOINT' Cruise patches created for the squadrons of Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11). It depicts the "Angry Birds" being catapulted from the two-masted schooner onto a desert castle and says "GETTIN' * * * at Kickin' (arabic)". It's designed in the shape of a 'puzzle-piece' if you look on the very corners and does not come with velcro attached! Since this was old inventory for the squadron, I was only able to get a few!!

This is the cruise patch created for the Golden Dragons for their first Operation Southern Watch cruise in 1992. They completed multiple tours during the '90s, but this patch was created for their first. It shows the "Golden Dragon" holding the country of Iraq in its' claws. Picked up a few of these from the squadron and these do not have velcro attached.

This is the F/A-18C Hornet LITHOGRAPH that was created by VFA-192 World Famous Golden Dragons. It shows their "very colorful and distinguished past" (text at the bottom) and all their aircraft they flew. This will be shipped in a mailing tube, so it should be as protected as I can make it! From one of the most famous Navy-centric movies of all time, is the patch FROM the movie!! The Bridges at Toko-Ri is a 1954 film based on a novel by James Michener about a naval aviator assigned to bomb a group of heavily defended bridges during the Korean War. It was made into a motion picture by Paramount Pictures and won the Special Effects Oscar at the 28th Academy Awards. It follows the book of the same title emphasizing the lives of the pilots and crew in the context of a war that seems remote to all except those who fight in it. The goal of the mission is set above everything else and the heroes perish as victims of fate. The novel and film are a composite of actual missions flown against bridges at Majon-ni and Changnim-Ni, North Korea, in the winter of 1951Ð1952, when Michener was a correspondent aboard the aircraft carriers Essex and Valley Forge, and with a pair of rescue missions on February 8, 1952, one of which involved the shoot-down of a plane off the Valley Forge.
