28BS ‘Indian Head’

The 28th Bomb Squadron flies the Rockwell B-1B Lancer intercontinental strategic bomber out of Dyess AFB, TX. It is the largest bomb squadron in the Air Force with a mission to provide B-1B initial qualification, requalification, and instructor upgrade training for Global Strike Command. It is one of the oldest and most decorated units in the Air Force, and when I went through the Bone training, had some of the best instructors I’ve had the pleasure to know….especially the (late and great) ‘TROUT’ Gunderson…..Rest In Peace, brother…..
