The 33d Rescue Squadron is part of the 18th Wing at Kadena Air Base, Japan. It operates Sikorsky HH-60 Pave Hawk aircraft conducting search and rescue missions. This is the DET-1 deployment patch that says “THE STRONGEST STEEL IS FORGED” (top) and “IN THE FIRE OF A DUMPSTER” (bottom). Note, this version DOES say DET-1 on the dumpster, so it was only used for the DET-1 deployments. It was found in a local Korean embroidery shop and has the “theater-made” feel with the ‘cut’ edge, and does not have velcro attached.
