This is the detachment patch created for the 93FS ‘MAKOS’ for their participation in the 2023 *CHECKERED FLAG 23-2* Exercise which takes place at Tyndall AFB, FL. *CHECKERED FLAG* consists of multiple large force exercises (LFEs) where 60-70 fighter jets take to the skies. Half play as “blue air” which means they act as US and Allied forces with an objective to defend….the remainder act as “red air” bandits. This patch does not come with velcro attached.
