The mission of Station Search and Rescue (SAR) Key West is to provide a two-hour search and rescue support response for tactical fixed wing flight operations based out of NAS Key West and operating in the surrounding ranges during airfield hours of operations (primarily during daylight hours) or until last plane on deck notification, whichever is earlier. Station SAR Key West can also render immediate assistance if requested by civil authorities or the United States Coast Guard to provide consistent search and rescue alert coverage for the Florida Keys. This is their patch for the SAR unit in Key West and does not come with velcro attached.
