This is the blue version of the 1990 ‘MAIDEN CRUISE’ shield patch for CVN-72 (USS Lincoln). It shows North and South American continents with a mermaid in the Atlantic. There is the letters “VI” (for Virgin Islands), an “all-seeing EYE” off the coast of Brazil, a flag “around the Horn” and says “ARAMEAS” in the location of the USA. Not sure what all those meanings are, but I’m sure it means something to those on that deployment. This patch does not have velcro attached.
