Carrier Air Wing Seventeen (CVW-17) is a U.S. Navy strike fighter wing based at NAS Lemoore, CA, typically attached to Carrier Strike Group 11 (CSG-11) and the USS Nimitz (CVN 68). It consists of nine squadrons, including F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, electronic warfare, and aerial logistics units, designed for maritime superiority, power projection, and combat operations. This is the dark blue version of their TASK FORCE shield patch that says “PERSONNEL RECOVERY” and does not have velcro attached.
