This is the most common of the aircrew patches delineating their “status” in the jet. It tells everyone that you have flown a minimum of 500 hours in the F-14 Tomcat, and is common among Tomcat aircrew due to ‘shore’ tours and other military requirements. For one to have earned this patch, it meant that he was fortunate enough to have flown for several years in this one aircraft. This version has the “cut” blue border and does not come with velcro attached.
