(Repro) This is the story of how the US Air Force acquired Russian-made MiG jets during the Vietnam War, eventually creating a secret squadron (some of you may know more on this). This took place from the mid-1960s until the end of the Cold War. A mission was developed to use these Migs to train American pilots in mock dogfights. The program was called *CONSTANT PEG*. This took place north of Las Vegas in Area 51 by the 4477th Test and Evaluation Squadron, Nellis AFB. These pilots learned to fly these without a manual, which is no easy task, but they were the *best of the best*! They adopted a mantra ÒBE HUMBLE, YOU COOL FUCKERÓ to remind themselves to be trainers and not to be cocky towards their trainees. This patch does not come with velcro attached.
