The Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) is a U.S. Air Force high-altitude, airborne communications relay and gateway system (primarily E-11A aircraft) that bridges voice, data, and imagery between disparate military systems. Often called “Wi-Fi in the sky,” it extends communication ranges in mountainous or contested terrain, enabling joint forces to share a common operational picture. This is one of the new roles for the 128 ACCS out of Robins AFB. This version says “2000 HOURS” and does come with velcro attached.
