The ‘Sea Stallions’ were established in May 1978 and currently fly the MH-53E Sea Stallion out of NAS Norfolk, VA. They were implemented with side-scanning radar in ’92 for search capabilities. This is the “red inner border” version of their 2012 “HURRICANE SANDY” relief/rescue detachment off the USS WASP (LHD1). It says “ALL THRUST, NO VECTOR” and shows the Statue of Liberty blasting off from the flight deck with the NYC Skyline in the background. This patch does not come with velcro attached.
