This is the 500 NVG hours patch created for HMM-161 that flies the CH-46 out of MCAS Tustin, CA. They operate under MAG-16 in support of the 3d Marine Division at Camp Pendleton. They flew combat support missions during Operation Desert Storm out of King Abdul Aziz naval air base, but this was created during one of their many deployments to “Club Iraq”. It states along the top “The Freaks Come Out at Night”.
