On July 31, 2000 another tenant unit joined Moody AFB, GA when the 479th Flying Training Group (FTG), an Air Education and Training Command (AETC) unit, was activated at Moody AFB to conduct the Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals (IFF) course and the Joint Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training (JSUPT) courses flying the AT-38B “Talon” aircraft and the T-6 “Texan.” By October 2001, the 479FTG consisted of the 49th Flying Training Squadron (FTS), the 3rd Flying Training Squadron (FTS), the 39th Flying Training Squadron (FTS), and the 435th Flying Training Squadron (FTS). This is the Class patch for UPT Class 03-13 and says “WHO NEEDS LUCK”. This patch does not come with velcro attached.
