Attack Squadron 42 (VA-42) was a US Navy attack squadron based at NAS Oceana, VA. The squadron was established as Fighter Squadron 42 (VF-42) on 1 September 1950, redesignated as VA-42 on 1 November 1953 and disestablished on 30 September 1994. This ballcap was created for those who flew the A-1D Skyraider at VA-42. Damn few of them left, but we made this SPECIAL for one of those who still graces us with his presence on this Earth.
