The VAW-124 “Bear Aces” fly the Grumman E-2C Hawkeye out of NAS Norfolk, VA. They were established in September 1967 and fly as part of CVW-8 on the East Coast airwings. They participated in Desert Storm aboard the USS Roosevelt (CVN-71) and are still attached to that aircraft carrier based out of NAS Norfolk shipyard, the largest naval facility in the world. This is the operation patch created by them for an faux operation they participated in the Arabian Gulf in late 2005-early 2006 as part of CVW-8.
