Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 77 (VAW-77) “Nightwolves” was an aviation unit of the US Navy’s Reserve based (initially) at NAS Atlanta, but in 2008 transitioned to NAS Joint Reserve Base New Orleans after the BRAC’s decision to close the GA base….they were in operation from 1995 to 2013. It comprised the U.S. Navy’s only fully dedicated counter-narcotics squadron. This is the desert version of their “HAWKEYE-in-SUN” squadron patch and does not come with velcro attached.
