(Korean Shop): One of the squadron’s suppliers is a (no kidding) little ‘sweat-shop’ over in Korea, and on one of my recent visits there (for my real job), I came across this place and apparently he has an entire room full of stuff he had left over from years of doing patches for squadrons…..This is where I found this patch (very small quantities). This is a cruise patch made for the VF-111 ‘Sundowners’ that says ‘WESTPAC/I.O. SUNDOWNERS FEB-JUL 1990 across the bottom. It has the standard Japanese setting sun motif as well. What’s uniqe about this patch is that the F-14 Tomcat is PINK!!! Was it a mistake or did one of the other squadrons have him make this as a joke? No idea, but he sent these recently as he’s clearing out that room getting ready for retirement! This patch does not have velcro attached.
