VF-1285 performed the same mission for the West Coast Fleet squadrons as VF-1486, and flew either VF-301 or VF-302 F-14 Tomcats. The Fighting Fubijars were disestablished just prior to VF-301/VF-302’s dis-establishment, and the three units (or what was left of them!) stood up as VF-1485 Americans. This is the blue/gray version of their squadron patch that says NAS MIRAMAR (top) and does not come with velcro attached.
