VF-143 Historical *Bowling Pin* Squadron Patch (Blue/White Border/No V)

The ‘Pukin Dogs’ of VF-143 began existance as VF-871, a Reserve squadron activated for the Korean War in July 1950. They flew F-4J Phantoms until 1974 when they transitioned to the F-14A Tomcat. They converted from Pacific to Atlantic fleet, homeporting at NAS Oceana, VA. They were attached to CVW-7/CVN-69 during Desert Storm and had VF-142 as their sister squadron aboard ship. They flew the F-14Bs for many years, then transitioned to the F/A-18 Hornet. This is their “historical” squadron patch that shows the “KING” (Great Britain) and the “Bowling Pin with the Crown” (meaning the KING PIN) and does not have velcro attached.
