This is the desert version of the “FELIX” patch worn by those who flew the F-14 TOMCAT as a Pilot/RIO for the VF-41 “BLACK ACES”. In April 1976, VF-41 transitioned to the F-14A Tomcat and did their first cruise in September 1977 as part of CVW-8 on USS Nimitz, with another cruise following in 1980 to the Mediterranean. This patch does not come with velcro attached.
