The “Tophatters” of VFA-14 from NAS Oceana flew the F-14A Tomcat and is the oldest US Navy squadron with a continuous history dating back to September 1919. They transition to their latest aircraft, the F/A-18 Hornet in December 2001, replacing the F-14 Tomcat. They participated in MANY conflicts/operations in their history, to include combat missions during Operation DESERT STORM. This is the RED/BLACK version of their squadron patch and does not have velcro attached.
