(Another AV8RSTUFF Creation): The “Kestrels” were established in July 1985 and operate the F/A-18E Hornet. Originally attached to CVW-6 onboard the USS Forrestal (CV-59), they left their East Coast base (NAS Cecil Field, FL) and became the sister squadron of VFA-151 stationed at NAS Lemoore Field, CA. This is the “orange-bordered, dark-gray” version of their Plane Captain patch (says “LOOK AT ME” along the bottom) for those who care for the birds and give us jets to fly!!
