The ‘Vigilantes’ of VFA-151 fly the F/A-18E Hornet out of NAS Lemoore, CA. Their lineage dates to August 1948 as VF-23, then underwent several designator changes before finally becoming the name of today on June 1986. They flew multiple variants of the F-4 Phantom before transitioning to the Hornet in ’86. This is the black/yellow version of their “re-basing” patch for leaving Japan….it says “SAYONARA JAPAN” and does not come with velcro attached. Found these in a box in a thrift store, so only have a few of these.
