This is the desert version of the ‘Hunters’ squadron patch. The ‘Hunters’ of VF-201 were one of two Naval Air Reserve squadrons based at NAS Dallas, then NAS Ft. Worth. They flew the F-14A models, but transitioned to the F/A-18 Hornet in the mid-90s.
