This is the ‘RED AIR’ version of the aircraft bullet patch used by the “Silver Eagles” of VMFA-115 that fly the F/A-18A Hornet from MCAS Beaufort, SC. They flew the F-4 Phantoms under MAG-31 during Vietnam, then later transitioned to the A-model Hornets in 1985. This is the patch worn by the Hornet flyers when they play the role of “Agressor” for other squadron’s training. This patch does not come with velcro already attached.
