(Directly from VMFA-533): This is the Medium-sized version of the ‘blue/white’ checkered pattern of the squadron patch for the VMFA(AW)-533 ‘Hawks’. Years ago, they flew the A-6 Intruder out of MCAS Cherry Point, NC under the watchful eyes of MAG-14. They deployed to Sheik Isa air base, Bahrain for Operation Desert Storm and have since converted to the F/A-18D Hornet flying out of MCAS Beaurfort, SC. This patch DOES have velcro attached.
