This is the desert version of the Operation Iraqi Freedom detachment patch created for the ‘Heavy Haulers’ that fly the KC-130 out of MCAS Cherry Point, NC under MAG-14. They participated in Desert Storm flying out of Bahrain, but also participated in OIF. The text is arabic “looking”, but it says in english “KC-130J”, which is their aircraft. This was the first deployment of the new KC-130J and also has a “desert subdued” scorpion in the design.
