The ‘Skinny Dragons’ fly the P-3C Orion out of NAS Barbers Point, Hawaii. They were established in July 1943 and received their P-3C Orions in December 1989. They were deployed to Diego Garcia in support of Operation Desert Shield and Storm. This is the detachment patch created for Det-3 and shows a P-3 Orion over (what looks like) a tree, but I’m sure there is more to it than I know…….This patch does not have velcro attached.
