The ‘Pelicans’ fly the P-3C Orion out of NAS Jacksonville, FL. They were established in November 1942 and operated throughout WW II. They also participated in Operation Market Time (Vietnam infiltration). Their claim to fame is the sighting of the Loch Ness monster and claimed to have tracked her using radar and sonobuoys for 2 hours! This is the black-bordered version of the squadron patch and does not come with velcro attached.
