The ‘Boomerangers’ of VP-48 flew the P-3C Orion out of NAS Moffett Field, CA. They were disestablished in August 1991, just after Operation Desert Storm. This is the desert version of their squadron patch. Not sure if they participated in Desert Shield/Storm or not…….
