VP-50 Squadron Patch

The ‘Blue Dragons’ of VP-50 used to operate out of NAS Moffet Field, CA with the P-3C Orion. They were established in August 1950. They suffered one of the worst losses ever when 2 of their aircraft collided off the coast of San Diego killing all 27 aboard. One was a personal friend. They have since been decommissioned.
