VT-35 Squadron Patch (Des)

The Stingrays, based at NAS Corpus Christi, TX, fly the TC-12B Huron, the military version of the Beechcraft King Air 200. They provide advanced training for future Navy P-3 pilots and Air Force C-130 pilots, and, more recently, intermediate training for Marine MV-22 pilots. The squadron is the only advanced joint leadership (USN and USAF) flight training squadron in the military. VT-35 was established on 29 October 1999 under the leadership of an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel – the first time that a Navy command was established under the leadership of a US Air Force Commanding Officer. This is the desert version of the VT-35 Stingrays Squadron Patch. They are located and fly out of NAS Corpus Christi, TX. VT-35 was established 29 Oct 99. All of the Navy’s TC-12B trainers are in VT-35 at NAS Corpus Christi, and all of the Navy’s T-44 trainers are in VT-31 at NAS Corpus Christi. These two squadrons train all multi-engine prop pilots in the Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard and their students are winged following training here and move on to fly Navy: P-3, E-2, and C-2 Marine Corps: C-130 or V-22 Air Force: C-130 Coast Guard: C-130.
