VX-9 is the Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Nine, (AIRTEVRON NINE, commonly referred to by its nickname, The Vampires) is a US Navy air test and evaluation squadron based at NAWS China Lake, CA. Using the tail code XE, the squadron operates numerous aircraft and helicopters of the US Navy and US Marine Corps. This is the HAWAIIAN DET patch created by the squadron for their deployment showing the “BAT” with a Hawaiian LEI on it and does not come with velcro already attached.
