The USS Coral Sea was one of the last few wartime carriers that have recently been retired. She was the first carrier home-ported outside the USA by being based at Yokosuka, Japan which allowed the boat to be readily available for rapid deployments in the Pacific. This is the patch earned by those with 400+ landings on this ship. It has the light blue background (symbolizing ‘DAY’ traps), but was given to those who earned a TOTAL of 400+ traps onboard. It does not have velcro attached.
