This is the Detachment patch for the HC-4 ‘Black Stallions’ that fly the CH-53E out of NAS Sigonella, Italy. It says “RAF Akrotiri” as the det motto. They had a det on Royal Air Force Base Akrotiri on Cyprus during OIF. They were doing CVW support in support of the war effort up there along with the Brits and some other US VRC squadrons.
