This is the patch worn by the TACRON-22 personnel. They have detachments to coordinate all air operations in support of amphibious forces. ÊThey also establish a Tactical Air Control Center and/or Tactical Air Direction Center to centralize control, coordination and integration of amphibious air operations and training, as well as maintain the capability to temporarily man and operate an existing Air Traffic Control Facility or establish a remote facility ashore to control air traffic in support of contingency operations. This patch is for their participation on the USS WASP in Operation ODYSSEY LIGHTNING in 2016 and does not come with velcro attached.
