This is the “last cruise” patch for the VA-35 Black Panthers that flew the A-6E Intruder off of the USS Saratoga (CV-60). They were one of the oldest squadrons in the Navy, having had the Panther emblem since the mid-1930’s. This squadron was the one that lost an Intruder the first night of the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
