The VF-11 “Red Rippers” from NAS Oceana, VA transitioned from F-4Js to the F-14A in 1980. They were originally stationed at NAS Miramar, but have since been switched to NAS Oceana and have switched to the F-14Ds. They played a key role in the air support during the air strike in Lebanon in 1983. This is the color version of their *RIPPER* (mascot) patch and does not come with velcro attached.
