The VF-154 ‘Black Knights’ were established in February 1951, then designated as VF-154 in February 1953. They flew the F-4S Phantom before transitioning to the F-14A Tomcat, eventually gaining the F/A-18 Hornet (several versions) as their current aircraft. This is the “TOMCAT” Felix patch they wore on the flightsuit that has the “red/white Sun Rays, a WHITE tab”, and does not come with velcro attached.
