(Another AV8RSTUFF Creation): VFA-122 flies the F/A-18C out of NAS Lemoore, CA as the West Coast Replacement Air Group (RAG). In order to be qualified for the “FLEET” (operational squadrons), the pilots must “Carrier Qualify” by landing multiple times (day and night) onboard an aircraft carrier. This is called a “CQ DET” and this patch was created by some of the female pilots to say they are “STRONG, INDEPENDENT WOMAN” (top) and “DON’T NEED NO MAN” (bottom) with Peter (from the Family Guy) sitting on a beach. This patch shows two separate tents (boys and girls) and Peter has long fingernails (inside joke). This patch does NOT have velcro attached.
