The “Knighthawks” of VFA-136 initally flew the F/A-18C Hornet as part of CVW-7 from the USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67). They were established in July 1985 and received their first ‘night attack’ Hornet in November 1990. They participated in Desert Shield, but returned home from deployment before hostilities began.
