In July 1992, VMAQ-2 split into 3 separate squadrons and formed VMAQ-1, -2, & -3. The “Playboys” of VMAQ-2 fly the Grumman EA-6B Prowler out of MCAS Cherry Point, NC. This is their “just plain ole desert” patch as they like to call it and was told to me.
