The ‘Aardvarks’ flew the F-14A Tomcat out of NAS Miramar. Their mascot was the creature “Zott” from B.C. Comics. They transitioned from the Phantom to the Tomcat in December 1975, and made several West coast cruises paired with VF-213 before being decommissioned. This is their “Decommission” patch they created to commemorate their years in Naval Aviation, ending their flying with the F-14A Tomcat (1942 – 1993). This patch has a lot of skulls burning in Hell, their different aircraft on the left, and “ZOTT” being called home to Heaven by the “All-Seeing Eye”. Neat patch……must have had a Freemason help design this patch!
